The Band Director's role is to establish a schedule with the Band members that offer ample time to create and improve upon the music they perform. This individual will supervise all aspects of the Band, including practices and performances. Additionally, this person is responsible for all aspects of recruiting in the program.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Recruit qualified new members to add to the total number of 25 band members
Obtain and teach new music
Oversee rehearsals and practices
Coordinate all aspects of performances -both at Indiana Tech and in the Community
Budget funds with Athletic Director for maintaining the band
Be comfortable in dealing with a diverse student population
Bachelor's degree Required
Minimum 1-year musical directing preferred
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
