Description
The Department of Music at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invites applicants for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Applied Voice with the anticipated start date of August 1, 2026.
Responsibilities include teaching applied voice, diction for singers, vocal pedagogy, and other duties assigned by the Department in accordance with the candidate's expertise. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active performance schedule both on campus and professionally, hold memberships in regional and national professional organizations, assist in vocal area planning and recruiting events, and participate in departmental and university committees.
Qualifications
The successful (ideal) candidates will possess the following requirements:
Minimum or Required Qualifications:
- DMA in Vocal Performance and/or Pedagogy, or closely related field
- Evidence of professional level performing or scholarly activity
- Evidence of successful teaching at the university level
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Soprano or Mezzo-soprano
- Candidate should demonstrate stylistic versatility in performance and teaching
- Evidence of successful recruiting
- Willingness to engage in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC's Strategic Plan.
